6 months today we met….

6 months ago today we met this little girl.101_0511

I don’t know whose heart broke more that day….ours or hers.100_0461

She screamed.

We questioned. were we really doing the right thing?

100_0464

She cried.

We cried.

But somehow the tears stopped.  for then.

100_0468

And somehow we made it 6 months together.

And somehow I’ve fallen in love.

6 months.

It feels like a lifetime of getting to know someone.

Yet, I’ve just begun to unwrap the gift of my daughter.

I love you Yao Yao. I really do.

W-O-W! Happy 6 months to the whole family. I couldn't wait to get to work to message you and your friend who also adopted from Wuxi, and now I'm even more amazed because I heard a radio show on the 6-month anniversary of bringing SuSu home!!! I was listening to Family Life Today (see if you can stream it online from:

http://www.familylife.com/site/c.dnJHKLNnFoG/b.3843443/

This morning and they had guests that adopted several boys from Russia. (I only heard the last 6 minutes :(

Anyway, in what little I did hear, he talked about so MANY awesome things, I really want you to hear it. One thing he mentioned is how he expected a Hallmark moment when he took his new boys from the Russian orphanage, but how it was the opposite - they SCREAMED and cried and it was heartbreaking.

The awesome part was how he was trying to tell these little 1 year-old boys as tey were reaching for the orphanage, "Boys, this place is the PIT. I'm taking you to a place where you'll have a mommy and daddy, and love and Happy Meals, and a warm bed, and a yard to play in!" And he drew an awesome parallel - how that must be what the Creator tries to tell us about heaven. We love this pit - imagine how much great it will be with our Father in the place He has prepared for us!

He also talked about the food issues with adopted children!

I REALLY hope you can listen to it! (I wish I had heard all of it).

Blessings to you and your family on your 6-month anniversary!
