The Seinfeld Post

8:30pm. Finally.

Quiet.

Peace.

Me.

Did you read that? Me.

Not thoughts of Yao Yao or her menace twin brother:) or how I'm going to possibly tackle the change of clothes for the season (did you read that my literary friends? I wrote clothes...not clothe even though that continues to sound better:) or when I might start cooking "for real" again. I'm not even thinking about coupons.

I'm just thinking of the 2 hours of pure delight that lay before me. Time for me.

I have been craving to write. Not about adoption or the insanity I now face. I just want to write. Really write about me.

But as I sit down to write about ME, I realize that there is nothing to write that does not pertain to heavy subjects. I'm in no mood for "heavy subject" processing, so this post is promising to go nowhere. Perhaps it will be entitled, "The Seinfeld post", since it will be a post really about nothing.

Actually, as I write I'm thinking about making it about something....I think I will make this a daybook entry.

What is that you may ask?

Really, I don't know either, but I saw this around blogland and I thought it looked like something fun to do. So here is mine

Tuesday May 5, 2009

Outside my window...rain, rain and more rain. Oddly I enjoy it.

I am thinking... thinking, thinking, thinking. But I promised myself to stop doing that for tonight, so I refuse to write about such things in detail. However, the top 3 are schooling decisions, freezer meals, how to make a non scheduled person scheduled.

From the learning rooms... Ok...I'm thinking this is for homeschoolers. However, homeschooling is about making everday a learning event. So, I can say that we are learning to not throw tantrums, that potties are for pooping, that mornings are for sleeping, that 4 kids are more than 3:)

I am thankful for... being done the adoption process.

From the kitchen... I continue to wallow in the sorrow of my procrastination in not freezing the $20 in pork I bought at a wonderful price. The $20 of pork that ended up in the trash. I was afraid it sat too long. You know, the Swine Flu and all.

I am wearing... jeans, black shirt, black shoes. Wow. No PJ's. That's because it's 8:30pm and not 8:30am.

I am reading... are you ready for my multi-tasking reading list? Truely, I do not exaggerate... I really am reading them all. Truely I do love to read:
  • Frozen Assets: how to cook for a month and eat for a day (deborah taylor hough)
  • Sober Justice (Joseph Hilley) (a fiction I'm completely bored with and will probably skip to the last chapter)
  • A Sane Woman's Guide to Raising A Large Family (Mary Ostyn)
  • The Connected Child: Bringing Hope and Healing to your adoptive family (Karyn Purvis, David Cross) (only a quarter of the way through and I highly recommend it...scientifically based but in easy and practical terms)
  • How to Make Your Children Mind without Losing Yours (Kevin Leaman) (I don't want to tell you how long I've bee reading through this one. Considering the behaviors of my youngest, I better start over from the beginning again:)
  • Between Sundays (Karen Kingsbury) (with all of these thought provoking books, I want a simple, no brainer to read)
  • She's Going To Blow: Real Help for Mom's Dealing with Anger (Julie Barnhill) (hmm. this one is to give to a friend, lol:) actually, it should be in the mailbox any day and I am very excited to dig into this one too. I heard her speak and she's great!)

Lest you think I have lots of reading time I don't....I just try to read when I can.

I am hoping...to finish at least 1 book and organize my pictures .

I am creating...a plan to organize my garage, my basement and my life

I am praying... about schooling decisions for my children

Around the house... I'm actually starting to reorganize my basement and garage for the 1 millionth time. I also am somewhat satisfied with the reorganization I've done with sippy cups, tubberware and the laundry system:)

One of my favorite things...bedtime...not mine, but theirs:)

A few plans for the rest of the week... I never know my plans so it's always a suprise for me to look...2 playdates, appointments, dance, really this week is somewhat boring. It still feels chaotic but boring.

Here is a picture thought I thought of sharing with you....
To visit more daybook entries visit The Simple Woman's Daybook.

There is no commitment on my part to do this weekly. I'm a very bad commited person (at least regarding bloggin). Regardless, it may appear from time to time when I want some time for a post to be all about me:)

So that's it. I feel somewhat fulfilled for the evening. Now, I'm off to read my books. Perhaps I will start with the Sane Woman woman one...priorities must be kept in order:)

I loved this post... I loved the fact that it was about you. I loved the fact that you can actually sit down and write some thoughts. It makes me want to try it too. LOL! (I'm being serious) I may just go to that site. :-)

I'm so glad to hear that you finally got some precious time to yourself, and to hear that you're still alive and well!! Can't wait to see you on Friday and see how our girls react to each other after being apart for a month:) Hope you have a little of your sanity left for our playdate!

I am truly amazed that you are reading that many books at one time. That is impressive! I love to read, but I NEVER make it a priority. I was shocked that I have read one of the books on your list. I am sure you will be completed surprised which one it is ... "Between Sundays". I have never heard of the Daybook idea - but I like yours and I will have to check it out!
