Almost, not yet.

Before you get all excited, we did not meet YaoYao yet! We actually will not be leaving our hotel until 1:30pm. We head with 7 other families from our agency to meet our children at the Civil Affairs Center.

Thank you so much for you prayers for my health. Unfortunately, I am still pretty sick. Yesterday I felt worse than ever. So, I had the Rockstar Nurse go to a pharmacy for me. Their medicine here consists of Chinese herbs. He was able to talk the pharmacist into somehint with some western medicine in with the herbs.

So, I took the medicine, which we have no idea what it was because it is all in Chinese. Unfortunately the medicine kicked in when I was on the plane. I don't know what is in those herbs but it put me into an out of body experience...plus I almost had a panic attack because I got so hot my skin felt like it was on fire. And then I puked. Sigh.

This morning I woke up with no head congestion so the herbs did do their job, but I was incredibly light headed and still had a 101 temp. However, I'm feeling a lot better right now. My lungs really hurt and so I'm wondering if it's bronchitis. I started a 2nd antiobiotic at 2am this morning. This one is more for respiratory infections. It takes at least 24 hours to really kick in. Although the Rockstar Nurse said with bronchitis it could take longer. Great.
I was so disappointed this morning. I have to admit that I was not excited to meet YaoYao at all. For awhile I couldn't get out of bed without falling over so that tends to decrease ones excitment to care for a 3 year old.:)

However, since I'm feeling a little better now, I am starting to get very excited.

Last night when we walked into our hotel room in Nanjing, this is the 1st thing we saw. It gave us both chills to see the bed already set up for her.

My excitement also grew as I prepared her small bag of gifts. My other kiddos picked out the puppy to give to her so it brought tears to my eyes as I put it in her bag.We have 2 1/2 hours until we leave. And perhaps I should prepare you all for what to expect (or not expect) for our reunion.

This will not look like a hallmark movie. She will not come running across the room with outstretched arms. The transition will be pretty quick and most likely YaoYao will scream like a banshee. A lot of times, the kiddos will choose to start bonding with one parent over the other. This can be emotional for the parent that the child wants nothing to do with and it can be physically draining for the parent that she is glued to hip with.

So, that's it....it could be absolute chaos here for awhile (which is why I NEED to get better!).

I look forward to finally being able to introduce you to our daughter.

I will be praying as I fall asleep that all gets better with my sweet Flamingo and that THE ROCK STAR NURSE can handle his girls and WILL NOT end up in the corner rocking back and forth! SO EXCITED (and so is THE CAPTAIN) to see you with your girl! Could you please tell me the correct pronunciation of her name? like YO YO or YOW YOW? I'm not quite sure :) HUGS!

I am so sorry that you still feel so awful. I hope that your excitement overshadowed how you physically feel ... because I know you have met her by now and have spent over 7 hours with her! I keep hitting refresh hoping to see a new post! I have to go to work now, but can't wait to get home and see pictures later today!

i finally logged on this morning and was bummed to hear how miserable you've been healthwise. and to think you toured the wall sick! your pictures don't tell even if you think they must =) at least not the ones you shared. i am SO excited to hear your next post. the crib pic made my heart jump for you. it brings tears to my eyes...absolutely incredible. our God is an awesome God =) enjoy!!!! my aunt and uncle adopted a daughter from brazil and she clung to their arms like a koala in the hotel room...they had bruises up their arms...she was afraid they'd put her down and leave. your little one will not be afraid for long =) you are doing an awesome job of sharing the moments =) take care.
