Introducing the Flamingo Mama

I'm so excited to start a whole new blog! So welcome to 1 Crazy Journey! I am a 30 somethin' mama of 3 and soon to be 4. I'm the Flamingo Mama.

What in the world? Has she lost her mind? What is a flamingo mama?

Well, to be honest, it has taken me weeks to determine my new blogger world name. I know what you are thinking. Weeks? Weeks...and that's what you came up with?

You have to understand. This bloggerworld is quite large. My creative mind was in overdrive, but apparently many others have minds that think uniquely like mine. Every name I thought of was already used. Who else would think of the polka dot mama? Pajama mama, blue jean mama. Yep, they are all gone.
I thought of chaotic mamac but I was soon deterred by my hubby. He thought it reminded him of a big deranged woman with really bad hair.

So, I was quite frustrated. I began to ponder, who am I? What makes me unique?

Then, I remembered. My flamingo stand! My hubby loves to pick on me regarding this unique posture. I often stand in the kitchen chatting with him and standing like a flamingo. I don't find it wierd. I find it quite relaxing.

So, then I began to wonder...how else am I like a flamingo? I was amazed to find out that me and these peculiar creatures have a lot in common.

1. Flamingos are extremely social birds. They are found in large flocks. Hello? This is me. I am quite the flamingo. The blogging world is any flamingo's dream.

2. The flamingos march together and then switch directions abruptly. Once again, this is my life. I can often be found marching to the laundry machine, but then abruptly switch directions to the dishwasher...or the poopie hine. Whichever takes precedence.

3. When flying, flamingos flap their wings rapidly and cotinuously. Although, I don't fly, I am always moving. I drive my hubby crazy. I am always shaking my leg or foot or twitching somehow. Again, I don't find this wierd. It's just relaxing.

4. A flamingo's nest is not fancy, just a mound of mud. My home is not a mound of mud..and I love to decorate. However, I am not a fancy person. I am a blue jean type of gal. Bake some brownies from a mix, start the coffee maker, light a candle, put on jammies and curl up with a good book. That is my idea of an incredible nest.

5. Last but not least, their legs. I am not proud of my flamingo-like legs, but they are mine.

So there you have it. And if I didn't think I was odd enough at the beginning of this post, now I know I am truely quite rare;)

luv,
the Flamingo Mama

I love your new "name" - nothing weird about it to me! Of course reading through your ways of being like a flamingo are very similar to mine - always moving, standing like that, etc.! How could it be weird???? ha!

Good luck and best wishes on your journey to China! We hope to be traveling in the fall or early winter for our 2nd China blessing!
